A piece of ASCII art, drawn entirely with text and punctuation, of a deer man with long hair seen from the back, looking over his shoulder and flexing while fireworks go off in the sky. A message reads, "To all at rsync 2026: Happy New Year!" Credits go to Suule for "graphics and code", Gasman for "music and code", and to The Green Herring for "this ASCII".

On a website front page, in a green wireframe grid, a masculine but lean green fishperson with long parted hair wearing red glasses, earrings, a choker with a red medal, and a dark-red V-neck t-shirt over a heavy bosom, along with fishnet gloves and a black waist-high pleated skirt with pockets pushed slightly forward by their package, greets the visitor to their website with a smile and a wave of their hand, their other hand resting on their hip and their tail lifted. The text says: "The Green Herring: Art, Games and More! This site is intended for users 18 or over! Welcome to my domain, where you can find my artwork, games, music and more. What would you like to see today?"

"A retrospective sampler of art from 2025. See you in 2026!" In January, I went raving, @RachelRox leaped into Twitch partnership, Flygon became a Shining Force mage and @techokami@woof.tech gained a PNGTuber! In February, queer roos laid on the beach and went flying, I hung out at the bar, and a pleasant vista fit in just 256 characters. In March, warriors readied to spar, queer roos celebrated TDOV, and alien shapes were drawn to protest genAI! In April, Punky Skunk got his day, the Silvamancer emerged, and a bunny cast magic on Easter! In May, more aliens emerged against genAI, and Rabio Lepus got fan art. In June, Dr. Eniiyi Adebayo said trans rights are human rights, Sparkster fought Axel Gear, and I won a compo with a speed paint! In July, a raccoon enby artist lounged on a chair they drew, Kitten Kaboodle got fanart, I sent an Undertale Memory, and I drew a Critter Time forum exclusive of a bunny biting my head. In August, I gifted PangolinFox techwear, won and lost compos, unle

A nest of snow rabbits are working to build another one of their kind on a slab of rock. One has ripped off part of his own ear and is about to put a snowball inside of the creature; while another is squatted by the legs working to put more snow into the right leg from a pile. Another rabbit stands at the back casting cyan magic to begin the process of bringing the creature to life, with a cyan aura surrounding their head. Several more of these rabbits watch with a mix of surprise, contemplation and admiration. One side of the rock slab happens to be lit in a manner resembling the number 23.

Over a big red heart symbol, a rabbit and a squirrel with blue hair and clothes kiss under mistletoe with their eyes closed. The rabbit is white-furred, muscular and masculine, with long parted hair, hands on the squirrel's shoulders, and a muscle shirt. The squirrel is golden-furred and slender, with long messy hair; wears blue eyeshadow, a choker and a t-shirt; and is resting a hand on the rabbit's chest. To each side is written the number 20.

Two feline aliens, one cyan and one blue, sit together on a red rug in front of their fireplace, lit only by the flames and in silhouette. They are seated separately but with their tails wrapped around one another. Above the fireplace is a painting of a yin yang-esque design with one half cyan and the other blue. Surrounding it are framed photos of the cyan alien winning a trophy in an athletic competition with confetti raining down on them, and the ruins of a domed city at dawn. Below the photos are end tables carrying the trophy and a salvaged speed limit sign with the number 15 on it. In front of the sign is a droid on tank treads with an antenna on top; in front of the trophy is a stereo playing music. In the shadows of the background, the outlines of a couch, an end table with a blue and yellow lava lamp, a doorway, and a door with cyan and blue panels next to a thin lamp on a post can be seen.

Against a purple sky fading into blue night, the silhouette of a gigantic wingless dragon man, with only his eyes and nostrils visible, raises his arms over a city and declares, "This city is now open!" A cat and a floppy-eared dog seen as gray outlines watch from in front of the viewer. Between them are paths leading to a water fountain, with the path in front having the number 13 written on it.

In a snow-covered landscape at day, a brown rabbit person with a white underbelly wearing a big red ribbon around their neck is playing table tennis with another brown rabbit person only seen as a hand wearing a cyan ring. Motion lines drawn with punctuation suggest the red ribbon rabbit has quickly lunged to the side to bounce the ball off the court and over the net, seen from the perspective of their opponent who is preparing to block the shot. In the background, a burly rabbit wearing a big cyan neck ribbon and a smaller rabbit with floppy ears and a red scarf are each holding up a score card with the number "1" written on it. The burly one stares in smug satisfaction with a hand on his hip while the floppy-eared one is cheering on Red Ribbon.

In front of her fireplace, a lynx in a blue tank top with long blue hair has encountered a tiny red-haired squirrel man in her Christmas stocking. She is staring at him with a serious expression as he smiles up at her, and a line of dots indicate they are meeting each other's eyes. Gray text asks, "Did you miss anything?..." Below, a smirking black cartoon cat man made of text characters with yellow block eyes lays in front of an empty milk glass, a plate with crumbs, and a nearly-melted candle. He has short hair on top with red, green and white streaks. This sight is lit in the darkness by the candlelight, which the cat is about to put out with the pads on his fingertips. Under this is the message, "See you again soon, and happy holidays!"

In this piece of 16-color textmode art, Bubsy, an orange, slender, cyan-eyed cartoon bobcat man wearing only an open white dress shirt and a red necktie with a white line implying an exclamation point, sits in an alien world on his hip, his legs sprawled to the side, smirking at the viewer. A collection of red, cyan and black yarn balls sits behind him, and cyan yarn wrapped around his arms and his chest, which he grips with both hands, with one hand raised and the other on the ground. He sits on red dirt next to multi-colored grass with thick blades, and in the background is a range of red mountains with cyan tops and cyan plants including a spherical tree.
