I searched for “birthday” on 16Colors. Today is my daughter’s birthday, and that is truly how random this whole selection process is. I start digging around, and I come across a piece that stopped me in my tracks. This is an ANSI by my buddy Carl, aka Transient. Not only a long-time art scene pal but also someone I’ve met and hung out with in “real life” on a number of occasions. We came up together in the notorious 717 area code. Truly a friend, which is why I feel crappy for having never seen this ANSI before in my life. It came out in 1996 in a Lazarus release, and must’ve dropped as I was fading away from the scene after Apathy (the group we were both in) kicked the bucket. Carl, buddy, I love your style and I’m sorry I missed this the first time around. This AOTD’s for you, old friend (This also kind of looks like a zombie Tank Girl, so it ties in with my AOTD selection from a few days ago ) James
